The new website is certainly modern, fast and practical. Perfect for the purpose of a modern and fast growing studbook such as the Barock Pinto Studbook. Behind the scenes, Nando Dirksen (from NandoMedia) has been working on it for a few months now. “The previous website had been in use for 5 years and was no longer sufficiently modern and fast. In addition, the site was lacking security updates.” That is why it was decided at the beginning of 2021 to completely renew the website, so that the BPS website will be up-to-date again in the coming years.
New functions
The previous website that Nando had delivered in 2016 contained a free digital database of all active stallions accessible to everyone. “With the new website, we have made the database clearer and the information is also available in English, just like all other information that we will now offer on the website from now on. We have also expanded the option for online registration for inspections or events to include the online registration of horses and foals within the Netherlands. "This saves a lot of paperwork and waiting time. It is important to offer the webvisitor a clear and pragmatic experience in a smooth and accessible way”, according to Nando.
Improve and expand
Although the website has been worked hard and tested a lot, it is possible that there are still a number of small bugs. These will be resolved in the coming months. The English information has been translated by Google Translate, this still needs to be looked at closely together with the further addition of the database with all (formerly) active breeding stallions.
The website will be further technically optimized. Building a website involves a lot of things and because Nando does this mostly alone and voluntarily for the association, his daily work has priority. But we are extremely grateful for his many years of commitment and knowledge to all our digital activities.
