Geertje van de Veen and Gorrit Kuipers travelled to Norway last weekend to judge at the inspection for the Scandinavian division of the BPS. Unfortunately, due to various personal circumstances, fewer horses were presented than originally entered. However, the quality was very good, with an Elite mare, a Ster stallion, four first premiums and one second premium awarded. The excellent organization was in the capable hands of Camilla Nyhagen. The judges wanted for nothing, and the venue was equipped with an indoor arena, which, given the weather conditions, was certainly no unnecessary luxury!
The Elite predicate was awarded to Erika van Stald Barok (Eros fan Stald Barok x Sjouke 453), owned by C. Hauen. This mare was awarded an impressive 9 for breed type, received a total of 47 points and achieved her IBOP on the same day with a score of 64.5 points.
Also owned by C. Hauen was the well-developed stallion Spot on van Slattekas (Imperium BP97 x Bojek BP15 XX). He was awarded Ster status with a breeding licence. This strongly built young stallion has beautiful pinto markings, a noble head, a bold appearance and strong, sound legs. He has an active, spacious walk; in trot and canter, he could develop more strength.
The two-year-old Oxina van KL (Koen BP121 x Feitse 293), owned by I.K. Andresen, also caught the eye. This beautiful, luxurious mare, with an abundance of breed expression, moved with great power and balance and received 45.5 points. She certainly looks like a promising prospect for the future!
