Fransisca van de Voorsprong (van ’t Oostende) is the first mare within our studbook to achieve the TOP Sport predicate! This predicate can be awarded when a horse has reached Prix St. George level in dressage with at least 5 winning points. A remarkable achievement that we, as BPS, are very proud of. Congratulations to the owner, and we wish you every success for the future! Below is the story of Lianne Wemmenhove, owner of Fransisca.
Fransisca – a once-in-a-lifetime mare ❤️
Elite – TOP Sport – Preferent daughter of Bontfire XX06 Preferent X Willem Van Nassau Grand Prix.
Two weeks ago, Fransisca van de Voorsprong became the first Barock Pinto mare to achieve the TOP Sport predicate. A very special moment that I am incredibly proud of!
I bought Fransisca as a two-year-old mare. She was my first Barock Pinto mare of my own and by now I can say with certainty: she is a once-in-a-lifetime horse. A mare who will never leave us and who will always be part of our family. ❤️
At just three years old, Fransisca was awarded the Elite predicate. In the years that followed, she produced some wonderful foals, including:
🐴 Ivano BP65 (Epke BP28) – Central National Champion, achieving the highest scores ever recorded both as a foal and as a three-year-old
🐴 Jaro BP76 (Fonger FB14) – Champion of the older stallions at four years old
🐴 Power and Paint (Glamourdale)
🐴 Madonna van de Voorsprong (Emiel BP57)
🐴 Norbert XX44 (Zuperhero XX37)
After these outstanding breeding results, I decided that Fransisca would no longer carry foals herself. Pregnancy always involves risks, of course, and I no longer wanted to take that risk with her. In addition, it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to combine pregnancy with competing at a higher level in sport.
That is why we chose embryo transfer, which has already resulted in some beautiful offspring:
✨ Urisca (Kjento)
✨ Ushuaïa (Glamourdale)
✨ Un Dos Toto (Toto Jr.)
✨ Pablo (Imperium BP97)
✨ Rihanna (Murk 540)
✨ Remmy (Imperium BP97)
I personally rode Fransisca up to ZZ-Licht level and competed with her once at ZZ-Zwaar. She has so much talent and is incredibly willing to work. She always gives everything and would literally go through fire for you.
Because I was convinced that she still had so much more to offer, I decided to look for a Grand Prix rider who could help her reach her full potential.
But Fransisca was not going to just anyone, of course. It is extremely important to me that she is 100% well cared for and that she is ridden in a kind and respectful way. That is how I came to Harmina Holwerda.
From the very first moment, the two of them clicked. By now, Fransisca and Harmina have truly become a team. 🥰
The goal was clear: to achieve the TOP Sport predicate. And they have now succeeded! A milestone I am incredibly proud of.
But… this is only the beginning! ❤️
Soon they will compete at Intermediate I level, while in training they are already working towards the Grand Prix levels. I am incredibly curious to see what these two will achieve together.
Last summer, Fransisca was at home during the breeding season. For next year, we are expecting two foals by Lomme BP101. From mid-September onwards, she will be back in training with Harmina.
Harmina, thank you so much for the wonderful cooperation and for taking such good care of her.
Fransisca means an incredible amount to my business. Her offspring and horses from her bloodline can now be found all over the world, and I am incredibly grateful for that. She has enormous significance for breeding and for my business, Stal de Voorsprong.
But ultimately, there is one thing that matters most to me:
That I have so much fun with her. And that she is not only a valuable mare for my business, but above all simply Fransisca — my special mare, my once-in-a-lifetime horse and a horse that truly belongs to our family. ❤️
Here’s to many more beautiful moments together! 🥰🐴✨
Best wishes,
Lianne
